Friends With Wheels

Friends With Wheels is an all-volunteer group serving our community. It has been in existence for more than 10 years. We drive residents to medical and social services appointments.

Can you imagine having to go to see a doctor and not being able to get there because there is no automobile in your family, or no one to take you? There are many such people in our island community and they are grateful to the members of Friends With Wheels who take them, free of charge.

You can join this effective group with whatever time you have available. Drivers designate what days they will be free and are called at least 24 hours in advance. You may wish to drive one a week or once a month. It is entirely up to you. Call Receivers are on duty one morning of the month from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The Friends With Wheels telephone number is transferred to your home by Call Forwarding from the church.
