Hold Out
the Lifeline: A Mission to Families enables religious congregations and
communities to work alone or with agencies and other organizations for
the purpose of improving the physical, mental, social, educational,
environmental, and spiritual well-being of families in South Carolina.
Hold Out
the Lifeline values work rooted in and guided by the faith community,
and community partnerships. Its objectives are to provide health
education and services to families, build relationships within families,
and involve religious congregations and communities in identifying
resources and solving problems. Its overall process includes recruiting
and training congregational members as family health advocates and
bringing religious congregations and communities together with health
and human service providers to form local initiatives.
